Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Stiff, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to the Stiff website and mobile application (the "Service"), operated by Armands Klavins in Latvia.

Health and medical disclaimer

Stiff provides general stretch reminders and guided stretch routines for informational and wellness purposes only. Stiff is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Consult a doctor or qualified healthcare professional before starting any stretching routine, especially if you have an injury, chronic pain, a medical condition, or are pregnant. Stop immediately and seek medical attention if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort beyond normal stretching sensation.

You use any stretch, exercise, or routine suggested by the Service at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stiff and its operator are not liable for any injury or health issue arising from your use of the Service.

Accounts

Some features of the Service, including syncing your progress across devices and joining groups, require creating an account through our authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may use Stiff only in compliance with applicable laws and only for lawful, personal use. You are responsible for your device, your app store account, and any activity that occurs through them.

You may not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access, reverse engineer the Service except where prohibited by law, or use the Service in a way that could harm Stiff or other users.

Groups and leaderboards

Stiff lets you create or join groups to compare streaks and activity with other users, such as coworkers. If you participate in a group, your display name, avatar, streak, and weekly activity may be visible to other members of that group.

When using groups, you agree not to harass, impersonate, or share inappropriate content with other members, and not to use group features to collect personal information about other users beyond what is shown in the app. We may remove members or disband groups that violate these terms.

Subscriptions and free trial

Stiff may offer premium features ("Stiff Pro"), such as additional stretch routines, group creation, or streak protections, through auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions. Pricing, billing terms, and subscription options shown in the Apple App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase control your purchase.

We may offer a free trial for eligible users. If you start a free trial and do not cancel before the trial period ends, your selected subscription will automatically convert into a paid subscription and you will be charged by the relevant app store in accordance with its billing terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or as otherwise required by the applicable app store. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

Payments, refunds, and billing disputes are handled by Apple or Google under their platform rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Stiff uses RevenueCat to validate and manage subscription access, but Stiff does not directly process your payment card details.

No guarantees of uninterrupted service

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, content, branding, design, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Stiff and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended personal purpose.

Third-party services

Stiff relies on third-party services including Clerk for authentication, Convex for data sync, PostHog for analytics, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Apple or Google for app distribution and payment processing. Those services are governed by their own terms, policies, and platform rules.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Stiff disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stiff will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stiff's total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 50 if you have not made any payment.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, including removing you from groups, if we believe you have violated these terms or if continuing to provide the Service is no longer practical. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after the updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, except where consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
